Seeking a experienced Digital Senior Business Analyst with a relevant industry experience across Investment banking.


My client, a leading marker operator for Australia's cash equities and derivatives market. Their objective to operate these markets in an effective, governed and compliant manner. The role will primarily be working on growth and improvement initiatives related to Digital services within the company.

Summary / description of the role here:

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the analysis and documentation of business and system requirements for assigned initiatives and projects.

The role is responsible for assessing new concepts against current systems and procedures, analyse stakeholder needs from and end-to-end perspective, engage internal and external clients through various facilitation techniques and mediums and provide high-quality, fit for purpose business analysis artefacts including requirements, functional specifications, business process models, system designs and impact analysis documents.

Job duties:

  • Enterprise wide engagement to elicit business-, system- and operational requirements.
  • Strong collaboration with project assigned Subject Matter Experts for articulation and definition of Business Requirements.
  • Generation and review of Functional Specifications to ensure business requirement alignment.
  • Preparation of Business Impact Analysis documentation and workshop facilitation with each impacted business unit.
  • Review and contribution to the Test Strategy.
  • Liaise with IT solution providers (internal & external) on project progress and problem resolution.
  • Consultation with operational business units regarding deployment of system change, system functionality, system configuration and associated processes.

Required skills/experience:

  • Extensive Business Analysis experience, working on Agile, Lean and Waterfall projects.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills. Able to collaborate with stakeholders across all seniority levels ranging from Graduate to CxO
  • Financial services/Capital Market background with knowledge of full trade lifecycle gained through industry experience.
  • Excellent use of business process modelling and system design languages such as BPMN and UML.
  • Working knowledge of database structure.
  • Working knowledge of API's.
  • Experience in data mapping between systems.
  • Experience in gathering stakeholder requirements and translating to a user journey.
  • Experience in UI / UX.
  • Previous experience in large scale, transformative projects.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, ambiguous and continuously changing environment.
  • Ability to look at big picture and at the same time, dive into the details.
  • Easy to get along and establish rapport with team members very quickly.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, welcomes change and is adaptable within a very dynamic environment.

Useful skills/experience:

  • Tertiary education or other relevant industry certification.
  • Knowledge in industry standards such as FIX, SWIFT and/or FpML.
  • Experience using Altova XMLSpy.
  • Be comfortable working within a matrix structure.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience working in 'follow-the-sun' or other onsite / offsite client or vendor arrangement.
  • Experience using Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience using MS Visio, Lucid Charts, Enterprise Architect or other process modelling solutions
