Systems Programmer

This industry leader is currently seeking a Systems Programmer specialising in z/OS Systems.

The role of z/OS Systems Specialist is to ensure the reliability, availability and performance of z/OS systems meet customer expectations as defined by Service Level Agreements and this is achieved by effectively managing the installation, configuration, maintenance, customisation and tuning of products.
The role of z/OS Specialist may be assigned to a team responsible for a specific set of tasks such as Configuration Management, Disaster Recovery, Performance Management and rotate through the teams over a period of time. You may also be assigned primary support responsibility for a group of clients with backup responsibilities for the remaining clients.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Installation and maintenance of Mainframe system products
  • Perform problem determination, problem source identification and problem resolution
  • Take ownership for assigned tasks and prioritise response in accordance with Team Leader's directions
  • Apply approved system changes in accordance with Change procedures and manage to targets specified
  • Manage resolution of problems in accordance with severity defined in Problem Management procedures
  • Support project tasks as assigned and delivered to specified schedule

The role will be looking at activities of supporting project business imperatives, critical applications and batch schedules.

The successful candidate will have experience in maintaining and installation of Mainframe system products, disaster recovery, performance management and customisation and tuning of z/OS systems products.
