Our client is one of the largest leading global Telecommunications Carriers and Service Providers who due to recent multiple regional and global acquisitions now require a Senior Network Engineer for the Global IP Network. The focus of this position is to maintain quality customer service by providing second level fault resolution and traffic engineering solutions.  This position also provides assistance to the IP planning team to create innovative product features through the supply of highly technical feature design, proof of concept testing and associated technical documentation.  During implementation phase of projects, this position has to ensure stable change management of the company network through the production of sound, well tested Methods of Procedure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality customer service by providing second level fault resolution to the Network Operation teams
• Ensure the service assurance process to meet the companys Performance Requirements KPI. To maintain IP network stability by providing highly responsive Network Routing and Traffic Management
• Provide technical assistance to the Planning and Development team to develop innovative product features through the supply of highly technical feature design, proof of concept testing and associated technical documentation
• Assist the Manager of Engineering to direct the training and development program of department support staff
• IP Model Development and Support, including software evaluation and new router equipment feature test
• Able to communicate effectively with customers regarding enquiries and complaints. Provide technical information, regular assurance, planned event notification, status update and follow up outage reason for customers. Ensure the customer service process to meet the initial response time of KPI
•   Keep track for update, QoS, MQC, BGP Policy Propagation configuration with different software version (IOS, IOS-XR & JUNOS) to enhance network performance

Requirements

• Degree / Certificate / Higher Diploma in Engineering, Telecommunication or in a related discipline
• 6+ years working experience with at least 4 years of experience within a telecommunications or IT services environment 
• Experience with Juniper and Cisco products, particularly VPNs (layer 2/3), Multi-cast, VPLS in large Service Provider network. Experience of operations and maintenance of Cisco and Juniper routers and switches in both hardware and software
• Holder of Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) preferred
• Strong technical competence in design and operation of WAN, LAN, OSPF, BGP, Multi-cast, Layer 2 and Layer 3 MPLS-VPN
• Good knowledge and experience on the IP backbone and ISP operations and maintenance
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented, mission driven environment
• Strong analytical skills, with sound judgment and decisiveness
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Good command of Cantonese and Mandarin is preferable, but Cantonese is essential
