We are looking for a Senior Mine Geologist for the open pit Gold mine in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Following completion of extensive drilling yielding very positive results, we are headed towards a projected first gold pour in June this year. This position operates on a FIFO 2/1 roster (ex Perth only).

Working alongside the Geology Superintendent who functions without red tape and bureaucracy, you act as his 2IC and assist with the monitoring and management of all geological activities onsite including supervision of the pit tech team. You will play an instrumental role in the development of this new and exciting project.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Formal qualifications in geology, suitable for full membership of the institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
  • At least 5 years experience in an open pit environment as a Mine Geologist.
  • Must have strong Surpac skills, ability to put together reports, spreadsheets, databases, costing systems, cost control, and forecasts.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Although not essential, it would be advantageous if you had a Frontline Management Certificates to Level 4 or the equivalent.

You must also be able to attend interviews in Perth and complete and pass a pre-employment medical and a GSDU clearance prior to starting. You must also have or be able to successfully obtain, a Senior First Aid certificate, Oxy Viva and defibrillator accredited training.
