- A Diesel Fitter will carry out diagnostic procedures, service, repair and overhaul engines and associated components, repair and service cooling systems, diesel fuel systems, emission control systems and air compressors/components.
- They will also repair and service manual and automatic transmissions and repair, service and install hydraulic systems and repair electronic engine management systems.
- In carrying out routine servicing they will ensure correct lubricants/fluids are used, do a safety inspection, read and interpret engineering drawings and complete minor repairs to electrical circuits/systems.
