Quality Assurance

• Quality assurance is the activity of providing evidence that quality-related activities are being performed effectively.
• Employees provide fact-based external confidence to customers and other stakeholders that a product meets their needs, expectations, and other requirements.
• QA covers all activities from design, development, production, installation, servicing to documentation.
• It includes the regulation of the quality of raw materials, assemblies, products and components; services related to production; and management, production, and inspection processes.
• Quality Assurance officers are required to study product specifications, sample products and make recommendations for improvement.
• They are employed in fields ranging from aerospace and electronics to chemicals and pharmaceuticals, among many other industries.
• Quality control managers are responsible for the documentation of test results. A manager or statistician will usually prepare the data in the form of a graph or chart.
