This large government department is seeking a Principal Lawyer to manage the provision of legal advice to the department on a broad range of complex legal matters. This involves providing authoritative legal advice to on a range of legal issues relating to town planning, environmental impact assessment, heritage, compulsory acquisition and general administrative law. This role involves the review and development of primary and subordinate legislation. You will need to be admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the supreme court.
