The Company A niche insurer with aggressive growth targets and a desire to develop new products and markets, they are going from strength to strength as they look to meet those targets. The role Reporting to National Underwriting Manager, in the role you will be expected to: - Manage a portfolio of commercial clients and underwrite their property and liability risks;
- Provide technical underwriting support to other staff in other regions;
- Consider loss ratios, claims histories and the show the analytical ability in relation to proposed risks;
- Work with the organisation with regard to developing new products and wordings;
- ensure re-insurance proposals and re-insurance guidelines are complied with;
- Perform ad hoc underwriting reviews;
- Train and mentor underwriting staff
The successful candidate will need: - Demonstrated property and liability experience;
- Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills;
- To have managed and mentored staff in a previous role;
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Experience designing new products
