A great opportunity has become available for a UCM Support Specialist for a large organisation based in Western Sydney. Reporting to the Manager of Application Support, the UCM Support Specialist will maintain the availability and performance of the Application Computer Systems in controlled environments.

The Role

  • Monitor enterprise system performance and offer suggestions around increases to tuning and capacity, to ensure performance meets agreed service levels
  • High level problem resolution
  • Carry out thorough system analysis from a technical and business perspective
  • Produce technical specifications and conduct tender evaluations
  • Liaise and negotiate with service providers
  • Project manage large implementations and upgrades
  • Act as a mentor for less advanced colleagues
  • Evaluate work processes and provide recommendations to continuously improve productivity and quality of services provided
  • Keep abreast with latest industry technologies and trends, informing managers/customers of impact on future directions
  • Produce and maintain documentation for use by support staff
  • Work closely with colleagues and other teams to ensure timely delivery of high quality solutions
  • QA and Testing activities

Your Background

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, or 10+ years experience in Application Support and Development; a background in Java and Internet technologies
  • Strong skills in support and maintenance, and extensive programming experience in Java, PL/SQL; JavaScript, HTML, XSLT
  • Experience in Java applications, supporting and monitoring Oracle applications UCM, Publish; Contribution and Consumption environments
  • Good knowledge of web applicants, and an understanding of Portal Server will be advantageous
  • Demonstrated knowledge around measuring, monitoring and reporting operations, monitoring heap memory and threads.
  • Exposure to INTEL and UNIX Servers, plus database experience in either DB2 or Oracle
  • Experience in performing break/fix in a complex environment, involving integrated application solutions across diverse technologies.
  • Highly developed customer service and stakeholder management skills.
