A Senior Statutory Planner is required on contract at a council located east of Melbourne's CBD. Due to one of it employees going on extended leave our client will require a planning expert to hit the ground running and proactively manage a comprehensive portfolio for the next 4 months.  

You will be responsible for:

• Preparing planning reports and VCAT submissions.
• Liaise with a range of external stakeholders including developers, builders, government departments and the general public.
• Conducting and managing mediation meetings, where required.
• Mentor less experienced staff. 

As the ideal candidate, you will have: 

• A tertiary qualification in Planning or other relevant area
• A sound knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and more specifically the Victorian legislation.
• Experience managing a number of planning permits applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to provide a high level of customer service
• Excelled computer skills
