A major player within the consulting sector is undergoing an expansion of their business and as such is seeking experienced professionals across a range of disciplines and sectors. This organisation is renowned within the Asia-Pacific region for providing world-class engineering, management and specialist technical services to government and private sector clients from a staff base of around 6,000. A strategy has been developed for the coming 5 years to focus on certain areas of the business that will see growth within the Australian market throughout this time-frame, one of these areas being Water Resources. Due to this expansion my client is seeking a business focused Water Engineer or a Business development manager with exposure to the water industry to join and lead this team.

The role will involve driving this area of the business to develop a leading water resources team within NSW, through marketing campaigns, bringing onboard new clients and further utilising existing links to the business. The team is made up of numerous engineers at varying levels that will primarily report to the technical lead, however some team management may be required, hence why knowledge of the NSW water industry will be essential.

The areas that the business focus on include:
Floodplain Management Studies
Stormwater management
Water Sensitive Urban Design
Hydrological and Hydraulic modelling
Mine water studies and;
Natural water-course diversion.

In order to be successful within this position applicants will hold a strong background within the NSW water sector (ideally with a water resources focus), a tertiary education in engineering, strong client facing skills and a comprehensive record of business development. It is likely that this role will work closely with the technical lead for the water resources group during tender proposals and as such the ability to work alongside other consultants is essential.
