A top-tier Environmental and engineering consultancy are seeking an experienced water resources engineer to join and lead their successful team on the North side of Sydney. The organisation is highly regarded within the Asia-Pacific region and are looking to build upon recent successes to grow and develop their water engineering sectors. This is a newly created role in order to provide direction, technical excellence and business management to the existing team. The current team is made up of half a dozen technical specialists across a variety of levels and the ideal compliment to this team will be a consultant holding experience within a range of water resources disciplines that can add value to the team, and specific projects.

The team currently works across the below disciplines, and the ideal applicant will hold experience in a number of these areas:
Floodplain management and modelling
Stormwater and Drainage management
Water quality modelling
Hydraulic and Hydrologic modelling and management
Water sensitive design
Mine water management

This technical knowledge will be coupled by the drive and experience to actively market the organisation and the services in order to grow and develop the water resources business. Due to the nature of the business a large percentage of the work is through other areas of the business and as such pure business development skills are not a direct requirement, however excellent communication and relationship development skills are essential for the position. The split of duties will hold a focus on technical management with business development and team management holding the other 50% of the workload.
