A major engineering procurement and construction company, globally renowned for their project work, is seeking an environmental professional to provide technical leadership to their environmental consultancy team based out of Sydney. The current consultant in this position is leaving to go on maternity leave indefinitely and my client is seeking an experienced environmental planner or scientist to take over this role and develop the team. The environment team is currently involved in projects across a variety of sectors utilising consultant's skills across contaminated land management, environmental planning and impact assessment, ecology, approvals management and environmental design advice. My client is ideally seeking applicants that hold strengths in environmental planning and approvals to compliment the existing skills within the team, and in order to become a leader in one of their key service lines. However applicants from an Environmental Science background would also be highly regarded. The current team is made up of around a dozen consultants with a very strong culture allowing for a pleasant work place and management style. This role will be the most senior position within the team and report to the Resource Group Leader for Environment & Water for NSW and hence prior team management would be beneficial. There will be a strong focus on project management within this position including planning, design, and budget management so previous experience of managing projects is essential. In order to be considered for this position applicants must hold 10 years + experience within environmental planning or environmental science, ideally within NSW. Additionally you must hold experience of proposal preparation, strong client liaison and management skills, staff supervision and ideally exposure to business development.
