Fantastic opportunity to lead Mechanical Engineering designs for a large Material Handling division. Reporting into the Engineering Manager you work alongside other Mechanical Engineers and Draftsmen designing and providing an engineering service for new and exciting material handling equipment (Conveyors, Bulk Material Handling, Crushing Plants) and Mineral Processing (Iron Ore, Gold and Mineral Sands Projects).

 

Our client is a high class leading design consultancy that produces niche mechanical, electrical, civil and structural designs, engineering solutions, project feasibility and asset management for the ever growing mining, alumina refinery, iron ore and coal industries.  

 

Employing more than 7000 throughout 4 continents their diverse portfolio comprises of Civils, Coal & Iron Ore, Refineries & Petrochemical, Nuclear and Rail Projects.  Their work spans across the globe and they pride themselves on project delivery.  

 

They have a number of opportunities for highly skilled Mechanical Engineers but most importantly for 2 Senior Mechanical Engineers / Leads.  Applicants will be skilled within 2d and 3d conceptual design and engineering calculation analysis.  

 

On a daily basis you will: 

 

• Produce system designs, conveyor designs, ship loader designs

• Produce Mechanical & Piping, plant layout  

• Pipe work calculations

• Ensure all Mechanical Engineering work complies with Australian standards

• Prepare all design schedules and make sure they are within budget

• Manage all BOM’s

• Participate and team reviews

• Ensure compliance within Company and industry quality standards  

 

Key Requirements:

 

• Degree educated

• 10 years mining or material handling industry experience 

• FEA ability & Mechanical Engineering knowledge is essential

• Excellent HSEC regulations and mechanical understanding

• Excellent project risk assessment knowledge 

• Ability to undertake designs and liaise with Engineering teams through to commissioning of the equipment
