The position is responsible for design of various ground improvement solutions and geotechnical techniques promoted by the Company. You will be fully involved in the team work of the Technical Department, and assume a pro-active role in the design efficient technical solutions for their clients.
The role requires:
- Providing the necessary design support to the team and site staff when required
- Gaining a good understanding of the projects your team in involved with; agree methods of design with project engineer/technical manager
- Providing geotechnical analysis ; appraise soil reports; derive soil parameters
- Liaison with geotechnical consultants/clients for clarifications or additional information
- Design checks and calculations at various stages of projects: preliminary design, tender design, execution design. Use of software such as Plaxis, Talren , Wallap etc
- Liaise with design experts for technical advices
- Prepare design reports; technical documentation, quantities, etc
- Prepare technical specifications
- Prepare sketches and follow-up drawings
- After gaining experience prepare full technical/commercial proposals for particular projects
- Participate in the development and promotion to the Australia market of the employers technologies; this may entail presentation of technical papers and attendance at industry conferences
You will have:
MSc Engineering with ideally the following subject having been studied: Geotechnical Engineering Geology, Finite Element Analysis, Hydraulics and Hydrology, Stability protection of deep excavation, Computer support to underground structure design
Salary: indicative range around the 70 - 75,000 plus super.
Location: North Ryde
travel: site travel will be required from time to time
