Excellent permanent opportunity to get your foot in the door of a leading electricity distributor as a Protection Engineer.

This is a Senior role and requires an individual with extensive prior experience in a similar role, in order to be able to optimize the performance of protection, control, metering and monitoring equipment, within electricity networks.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies for improving the performance of the electricity network including quality of power supply
Develop life cycle maintenance and replacement plans for protection, control, metering and monitoring
Assist with the preparation of the electricity network annual works program
Regular review and maintenance of all asset management strategies to ensure compliance
Secondary asset condition monitoring, failure investigations, performance monitoring and reporting for the strategic management of the secondary assets
Investigate opportunities that could potentially improve network performance & customer satisfaction and implement where appropriate
Provide technical support and advice to the protection and control team
Daily maintenance of power quality monitoring systems.
Manage projects

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years industry experience
Outstanding knowledge of electricity transmission & distribution, sub station protection, design control
Sound knowledge of SCADA
Relevant Engineering qualification

To be successful in this role, you must be proactive, a strong team player and be able to identify and stay on top of ever changing electricity needs.
