- Many non-profit organizations, charities and community organisations take advantage of the services of professional fundraisers.
- These may be paid for their services either through fees unrelated to the amounts of money to be raised, or by retaining a percentage of raised funds (percentage-based compensation).
- Fundraisers raise money from a number of sources, including individuals, businesses, trusts, foundations, government bodies and communities. They may focus on one of these sources, or - in smaller organisations - on all of them.
- They may generate ideas for fundraising and see them through
- approaching potential donors and building strong relationships with them
- They may hold = presentations, media interviews and publicity materials.
