A subsidiary of one of Australia's largest health research institutes based in North Melbourne, has an opening for an Administration Assistant performing the administrative tasks that are required for the effective functioning of the Pathology laboratories. The position will come under the supervision of senior scientists and will be required to perform and assist in a broad range of administrative duties required by the cytogenetics/molecular genetics team. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who has previously worked in the health sector or in a laboratory environment. The duities will include: - Responding to external phone calls and faxes
- Specimen reception duities
- Entering patient demographic information
- Organising couriers
- Identifying tests to be bulk billed
- Scanning request forms
- Manage general email queries
- Staffing the reception area of the laboratory and either dealing with issues directly or seeking out relevant laboratory staff to assist
- Data entry/Word processing
- Filing
- General Administration
