Our boutique funds management & investment advisory client seeks a qualified (CA/CPA) and experienced accountant ideally with a financial services background. You will be responsible for managing the full accounting function of their business and related entities. Therefore, due to the stand-alone nature of this role, you will be responsible for everything from the bookkeeping through to assisting the COO with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and all statutory responsibilities. This role provides you with high level exposure as you will reporting to the COO coupled with interacting with internal division heads and external advisors, clients and statutory bodies on a daily basis . These key responsibilities will include: - All aspects of the bookkeeping functions (AP/AR/GL entries)
- Monthly payroll processing and calculation of Payroll Tax coupled with quarterly Superannuation payments
- Completing BAS, IAS, PAYG and other tax liabilities
- Preparing P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow and all management reports for each entity
- Preparing all month end financial reports including cash flow reports, forecasts, intercompany loans and consolidations
- Preparing year-end financial accounts and assisting the COO with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Providing financial support linked to acquisitions and complex transactions
- Managing key supplier relationships for the business
This opportunity would suit someone with a broad accounting background who is passionate about both the transactional and more complex elements of the role. A financial services background is key as it is essential that you understand how transactions around securities, equities and shares need to be accounted for to be able to add value and gain credibility from day one. If you come from a more FA background and are looking to gain more management reporting experience, this role could be a great next step for you. The following skills, experience and competencies are required; - 3 - 5 previous experience in a statutory accounting type role
- CA / CPA
- Financial Services background
- MYOB experience
